Meet Ebony B. Tran
Ebony B. Tran, is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation. She is a retired U.S. Agency for International Development senior leadership development professional who brings over 25 years of experience supporting mission-driven leaders in complex, high-stakes environments. She has served in senior advisory, chief of staff, and leadership development roles globally, primarily working on policy implementation, strategy development, communications and organizational development. In these roles, she supported executives and teams through organizational change, institutional pressure, and mission-critical decision-making. This professional experience, which spans global development, national security, cross-cultural leadership, and large-scale organizational transformation, deeply informs her coaching practice. Having led and advised in systems marked by urgency, constraint, and constant change, Ms. Tran brings a grounded, pragmatic understanding of what leadership actually demands in real-world contexts.
Ms. Tran’s coaching centers on creating the conditions clients need to think clearly, lead with integrity, and move forward without abandoning themselves — trust, safety, time and space. Her approach is healing-centered and trauma-informed, without being clinical or therapeutic. Working with individuals as well as groups, using proven coaching methodologies, she has provided executive, transitional and career development coaching to public and private sector clients at all levels, from emerging leaders to senior executives.
In early 2025, Ms. Tran co-founded and currently serves as a Transition / Career Coach with AID Coaching, a global coaching collective serving international development, humanitarian, and foreign affairs professionals navigating the significant transition of the American federal government.
Known for her steady presence, deep listening, and no-nonsense clarity, Ms. Tran helps high-capacity professionals reclaim confidence and lead with purpose. Ms. Tran holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California and an Executive Certificate from Georgetown University.

Coaching Philosophy
Here’s what I believe about this work: clients already have everything they need – they are whole, resourceful, and capable of amazing things. My job is not to fix clients or tell them what to do, but to create the trust, safety, time, and space for them to figure out their own best path forward. Coaching is a true partnership – we both need to row in the same direction if we are going to get where the client wants to go. I also know that we all see the world through our own unique cultural lenses, which is not something to overcome but something to honor and understand.
I start from the belief that people are inherently good and that everyone – no matter their age, situation, or where they are in life – has the ability to change and grow. My intention is always to be positive, hold space for whatever clients are experiencing, and ensure our work together promotes equity and respects who clients are and where they come from.
